At my MCPS school there have to be at least two kids in the same class with lice before a note is sent home to parents.

I was told there have to be 4 reported cases in a class to send home a note at our school. I think that is a huge number considering there are probably many who do not report it.

Lice is all over MCPS these days. Chances are if you have a kid in a MC elementary school, someone at the school has lice.

In our ES they will tell the whole school, but no specifics as to which grade, etc...

IIRC, it is standard practice to communicate with parents in the class, but not the whole grade.

Our school apparently has a recent lice problem but the school has not communicated it to parents. Is this standard practice in MCPS, not to communicate? I don't know if it's in my child's class, but the kids mix classes for specials and apparently it is in her grade....
