i like kohl's. i like lauren conrad's line and some other basic cheap things. for some reason, i always find summery dresses and fall jackets there that i like.

I buy some of my kid's clothes there. They sell pretty cheap, decently-made kid's clothes. Also buy some toys/shoes/kitchen stuff. Like the PP said, I'll go mostly when there's a coupon offering a free $10 or whatever.

Hate Kohl's - cheap and crappy. I haven't been in a Sears or JCPenney in over 15 yrs.

I only go there when they send me a $10 coupon in the mail and sometimes I'll buy a $12 spatula or bread knife...

I find them more expensive than Macy's for women's clothes, but pretty good for kids's clothes. Like a PP said, never pay morethan 60% of the full price. Oh, and they do usually have fun decorations for all holidays.

More like a Penney's. Don't ever pay full price for anything there because they have 40% sales and coupons all the time. Good for basic kid clothes, housewares, picture frames, and they have some decent trendy women's clothing--Vera Wang has a collection there, for example. They definitely have a lot of more matronly clothes as well--Chaps, Dana Buchman (I have one of her suits that I love, but the Kohls stuff isn't that great from what I've seen)

They also always have kids' books and stuffed animals for $5, and the proceeds from those go to a children's charity.

If you're heading there, then why do you even need to ask?

It's like a department store, but smaller and cheaper. I find it's a good place to buy my husband's clothes, bras, kids clothes, and things like sheets and towels. My mom bought a nice set of dishes there.

JCP kind and I go only with coupons on KCash days. You get a $10 voucher for every $50 you spend. I buy all my workout and casual wear there also kids clothes and some of DH's casuals when they're on sale.

I'm heading out to my first visit to a Kohl's store (at Rio, if that matters). I'm not sure they are marketing themselves very well b/c I don't really know what they are. Are they more like a Target or a Walmart or a JCPenney or a Hecht's? I do know they are supposed to be low priced and have good sales. But what's good to buy there? Do they have house brands or designers that do stuff for them? What's the better of the brands they sell and what are usually the best deals to be had there? I don't have hours to explore, so any help so that I can target my explorations a bit would be appreciated.
