I remember reading about these cases a few months again in the Baltimore papers. Assuming they are the same, the clinic conditions and 'medical care' were horrific....and the charges warranted.

I was on a grand jury in DC. We were a varied group, and sometimes our response was "WTF is the prosecutor thinking?"

A prosecutor could get a grand jury to indict a bologna sandwhich. A charge means nothing. A "conviction" would be a victory for the anti-abortion crowd.

Should be interesting to see what facts come out of this. Not sure I'd call Cecil County "liberal" though. That's the prosecutor who brought the case.

I guess they thought it would not be an issue in liberal maryland but they took it too far.
