Not so much lavender available this time of year, but you can probably find a good deal of rosemary left over from Christmas. Try Safeway "markdowns' of rosemary. I'd also check Craigslist as many people move and don't know what to do with plans.

american plant in bethesda is supposed to great. there's also a nursery at the intersection of old georgetown and rockville pike, behind the toys r us. Alos, home depot on 14th st. or in bethesda probably has what you need, (might not until spring though).

Does Ikea have herbs? I've only ever seen those broad-leaf tropicals there.

I need to buy a lot of potted plants, for as little money as possible. I need things like lavender and rosemary, in 3 - 5" pots.

Has anyone tried that place out on New York Avenue? Prices, selection, quality?

I can leave the District, but don't want to go too far. I have another errand I should do in Rockville (but don't want to), so a recommendation in that area would be great.
