Not the OP but I am looking for any recent updates on this facility. We were offered a spot and I love any information.

Our son starts there in the fall. Any parents in Arlington who'd be willing to share their feedback on the three year old classroom?

LOVE IT!

Staff is relaxed and happy.
Child happy when she comes home in the pm.
Facility pretty cool.
There are rabbits and fish. How cool is that?

ALso, management is better than other ARL area preschools I've dealt with (from a consumer perspective).

Public exposure to radio waves from cell phone tower antennas is slight for several reasons. The power levels are relatively low, the antennas are mounted at high above ground level, and the signals are transmitted intermittently, rather than constantly.

At ground level near typical cellular base stations, the amount of RF energy is thousands of times less than the limits for safe exposure set by the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) and other regulatory authorities. It is very unlikely that a person could be exposed to RF levels in excess of these limits just by being near a cell phone tower.

When cellular antennas are mounted on rooftops, it is possible that a person on the roof could be exposed to RF levels greater than those typically encountered on the ground. But even then, exposure levels approaching or exceeding the FCC safety guidelines are only likely to be found very close to and directly in front of the antennas. If this is the case, access to these areas should be limited.

The level of RF energy inside buildings where a base station is mounted is typically much lower than the level outside depending on the construction materials of the building. Wood or cement block reduces the exposure level of RF radiation by a factor of about 10. The energy level behind an antenna is hundreds to thousands of times lower than in front. Therefore, if an antenna is mounted on the side of a building, the exposure level in the room directly behind the wall is typically well below the recommended exposure limits.

can cell towers be dangerous?

My son has been there since the beginning of the year, and it has been great. The director and staff are great, and his classroom teachers are really terrific. I haven't heard anything negative about the school from any of the other parents, either. A couple comments:
- Re: part time - A previous poster said they do not have it, but I know that they do have kids in there only Tues/Thurs, or only M/W/F. Don't know if they do half days, etc.
- Re: Tight parking - The spots are small, but I have never had an issue finding a place to park picking up or dropping off. Plus, if you are dropping/picking outside of bank hours, all the better.
- Only Drawback that I can think of is that in their location, it does not look like they will have many, if any, outings outside of the school and playground out back. We were in a daycare in DC prior, and they were able to walk to the library, or a couple other spots during the day. Not really available here.

Bottom line, it has been terrific for us so far.

PP- i agree about the cell tower. We briefly considered living nearby, though further away from the daycare to the cell tower, and decided we couldn't do it. I don't see how having DC there for 8-10 hours each day would be any better. It may not matter to some, but it was a major concern for us.

I drive by the preschool every day and briefly considered it for my DC. They don't have P/T programs though. It is right smack dab next to a HUGE cell phone tower. Maybe it's no big deal but it makes me nervous. The parking situation looks like it could be a bit hairy during drop off and pickup. The parking lot is small and is shared by a BofA.

Are there any parents with children there now who would be willing to share their experience ? We were offered a spot.

My nephew who is 3 years old has been going there. My sister is very pleased with the program.

At first blush, "Little Ambassadors Academy" sounded like the latest act of the Rev. T. Robinson Ahlstrom, headmaster emeritus (x 2) of Washington Latin and Alexandria Academy. Please say it isn't so.

Does anyone know anything about this new daycare in Arlington (on Lee Highway between George Mason and Harrison)?
