That was what we have done since the80s. Iran and Iraq tied each other up. The war strengthened Iran and weakened iraq which is why Iran won this conflict.Anonymous wrote:since we are already over there we should just have them attack iran, pretty close by would cost less money. Once we get rid of iran the world will be better and oil should be cheaper.
The draft should be reinstated.

Tough talk from someone who's probably never had to make a truly difficult decision.
Give your children the poor nutrition and healthcare, nonexistent education, greatly increased risk of assault and abuse, terrible role models and peer influences, and countless deprivations of poverty in this country and then tell us what an "idiot" you'd be to consider all alternatives. I guess your ethical system makes letting your children suffer an easy choice.

That's terribly unfair.
No one said it was fair.

If we're lucky, the Iran/Iraq war will start up again.

And then there's the money, as mentioned - the lives lost and worsened by the waste of resources. $800 billion is the cost of employing every unemployed American at the median income for 2 years and about the cost of feeding every hungry person on earth 3 meals a day for 3 years.

That's terribly unfair. If you had a family to support and you were one of the millions turned down for a McDonald's job, what would you do? I'm glad my circumstances haven't forced me to be one of those "idiots."
