Exactly. I'm the first "no" wrapping PP. The display was always so exciting! Not sure how it started, but goes back at least to my great grandparents. All my 1st and 2nd cousins do the same. Sometimes growing up the tree would be across the room from the fireplace. Santa gifts were left in front of the mantle near the stockings. Never thought of doing it any other way, but now that I'm a busy parent, it's nice to fewer things to wrap.

No, if you consult the documentaries about Santa's origins, you'll notice the fat old elf never has the toys wrapped in the magic sack.

Bonus: It contributes to Christmas Eve sanity for parents.

Wrapped in special Santa-only paper. Names are often applied in some clever elf fashion, like cutting the letters out of shiny paper and sticking them on. Sometimes calligraphy will do, if Grandma is around to do it.

I will say that for something big and cumbersome, like a bike, Santa can't figure out how to wrap it, so he just leaves it near the tree with a big ribbon. Of course it does not appear before his visit, sometime in the wee hours of Christmas morning.

Also, the tooth fairy only leaves gold dollar coins. None of this pedestrian everyday money!

Santa gifts were NEVER wrapped in my family! Instead, he carefully displayed the gifts for each kid. This is how I now treat Santa with our daughter as well.

Wrapped in special paper. Gift tags written with a gold pen.

Wrapped in separate wrapping paper used only for Santa and hidden well

You put the toy together, put in batteries, remove it from the impossible wires sticking it to the back of the box, etc., before you wrap it whether it comes from Santa or not.

Then you wrap the gifts from Santa is paper that you don't use for gifts from you.

In my family the Santa gifts were always wrapped in white tissue paper and tied with red bows. You will be able to find those every year and so Santa can always use the same paper year after year.

Of course you wrap them! In our family, my parents had to stay up extra late to assemble any gifts that were meant to be ready and waiting Christmas morning.

of course. you wrap all gifts. If they are the kind to put together, you should try to do that beforehand and just put a bow on it or something. you always wrap gifts no matter what the age.
