Last time we got a couch delivered I think we paid $40 or so for them to take away the old couch.

God, I wouldn't have courage to donate this. The cats REALLY destroyed it.... have you ever seen what cats can do with furniture in a space of 5 years?

That's what our trash company does. You won't know for sure unless you call and ask!

After a week or two on Craigslist, we sold ours for $50 and offered delivery within a 5 mile radius. With the offer of delivery, it went fast. Is that something u can do? I think it'll go even faster if u live close to DC.

What jurisdiction are you in? In Mont Co. they have picked up stuff like this for me for free a few times a year. You call and schedule a bulk pick up. I live in NOVA now and we have private trash. But still you can call them and they will come pick it up, they charge a small fee. I think we paid $20 to have a queen size bed hauled away.

Freecycle or the free section on craigslist. post that it needs to be gone by wednesday, and then schedule a trash pickup for thurs. as a backup (large items)

Try craigslist. People will take almost anything for free - just suggest a slipcover.

Otherwise, contact your county abour large trash collection.

We bought a new sofa (it will be delivered on Saturday) and I have no idea on how to get rid of my current sofa - any ideas? I thought about Craislist, but I don't think anyone will want it - it is REALLY bad because of the cats ruined it.
