Waxing stretches out your skin and hastens the loss of elasticity.

Try threading.

Apply ice after waxing and wipe with a mild antimicrobial (like H2O2) twice a day.

Benadryl will help because it'll reduce some of the inflammation, but I agree with PPs that this sounds like folliculitis and not an allergic reaction.

You can also get sugaring in a salon if you don't want to do it yourself.

I hate waxing.
I used to use natural Sugaring
which is no reaction at all
less painful than waxing, with minimal irritation

simple cleanup - just use warm water (or jump in the shower)

That happened to me so I started using at-home Sally Hansen depilatory for the face.

Mine does that as well. Stopped waxing.

different salons....different waxers. lots of red bumps - seems to be going down after taking benadryl last night but would like it to go away entirely. also not sure what else to do....the oil of olay cream hair remover makes the hair very stubbly...any other suggestions?

PP is correct. Doubt it's an allergic reaction. Lots of people get breakouts after waxing. I get them less when I do it myself at home.

Are you sure this is an allergic reaction? To me this sounds more like small infections. If both reactions were at the same salon, I might try a different (very clean) place before giving up entirely. Also might try a different waxing technique.
