Anyway, he said his friend said to ask for Kate or something. That is my name! I said, how did they know my name? He said, oh that's really your name? Funny that was my first girlfriend's name, then he changed the subject.
It all sounds like a stupid coincidence, OP.

Sad, old, irrelevant men trying to get some much needed attention. Sad.

Yup, bet they used bluetooth or IQ ware to scam the info from your phone. Creepy.

I never said my name, I've been there maybe 3 times in 5 years. No one knows me.

No, I just came to the bar and ordered from bartender. I didn't call it in or anything!

Probably overheard you say your name when you ordered ....has seen you there before and asked the bartender your name. I can think of a lot more plausible reasons than some spyware they used to find your name

Maybe they asked a bar worker for your name, ie, you gave it when you ordered your carryout?

I ran out to get some carryout at a local restaurant. Sat at the bar and ordered a glass of wine. Started texting on my ancient phone that I've been too busy to upgrade. Not even a smart phone, a regular old phone you slide up to text. You can get on the internet a little, it's just slow. I think I was checking facebook too. I noticed a group of professional looking guys across the bar. One of them was probably 65, the rest, late 30's early 40's? Looked like dads. Someone in between us slid a phone to me and said, this if from them. One of the guys said, keep it! The plan is free! Or something like that, then the oldest guy came over, said his friend was dumb but wanted to meet me. I said is this your phone? He said yes. Then he asked what I was doing there. I said picking up some food for myself and my husband, and my 2 young children. He said, oh you're married? I thought you were like 19! #1, yeah right, #2 Gross! Anyway, he said his friend said to ask for Kate or something. That is my name! I said, how did they know my name? He said, oh that's really your name? Funny that was my first girlfriend's name, then he changed the subject.
How did they know my name? Is there some sort of weird phone spyware or something you can use at a bar? I doubt they could see my phone when I wasn't paying attention and I paid cash for my food. Weird!!!
