Thin omelettes cut into strips, then roll and stick a toothpick through

deviled eggs

baked tofu strips with jarred pasta sauce for dipping (easy--take extra firm tofu, cut into "fingers" or strips, dip into egg or milk and then coat with breadcrumbs, bake at 350 for 30 min).

Bean layer dip & chips (layers, from bottom up--refried beans, mashed avocado, sour cream with taco flavoring mixed in, shredded cheese, chopped tomato/onion/sliced olive mix)

LOVE the pumpkin dip with apples, did that at our last party.

How do you make the crostini? do you use whole figs or the fig spread from Whole Foods? That sounds really good.

Please keep any suggestions coming, our party is next weekend.

I usually use 1/2 a fig, but I'm sure fig spread would work well too!

Here's my go-to--Take a wheel of brie and wrap it in croissant dough, then bake until it's golden brown. Pour a savory jelly on top (I love the pepper jelly from Harry and Davids). Put a cheese knife on the platter and surround with a couple of different kinds of crackers or pita chips. The whole thing is crazy easy, can sit for a while, and looks (and tastes) like something you worked much harder on than you actually did. I usually prep a second one and have it in the fridge, ready to bake, because it goes pretty quickly.

We're hosting a holiday open house type thing and plan to serve mostly finger foods and dessert. I have dessert covered with cookies, but would like some suggestions for vegetarian (doesn't need to be vegan) finger foods that can sit out for a few hours. Thanks!
