The ad is particularly ironic given Perry's own alleged extra-curricular activities. These are apparently well known in the Texan legal community.

Yes, I admit I was being hyperbolic. But I really do think that for a major politician to be undermining the law of the nation and the morale of the military, and encouraging divisiveness, is far more damaging than some nut painting a swastika on a synagogue. I don't mean to minimize the swastika, by the way.

Sadly, Christmas is the only safe topic for Rick Perry to speak on these days.

Perry is desperate, and either a bald-faced liar fomenting religious divisiveness, or too stupid to understand that religion is strongest when independent from government manipulation.

And the attack on gays ought to be prosecuted as a hate crime! I can see arguing that abandoning DADT might lead to morale problems, but he is simply gay-bashing after the fact, and inviting those morale problems when they have not arisen on their own.

When did Obama start the War on Religion? I think the fighting over prayer in school started before he was even born. Two Supreme Court decisions, Engel v. Vitale (1962) and Abington School District v. Schempp (1963), established what is now the current prohibition on state-sponsored prayer in schools. I think there was a Catholic in the White House when this happened. Maybe it was a Catholic conspiracy, no?

In Wallace v. Jaffree, (1985) an Alabama Statute authorizing a 1-minute period of silence in all public schools "for meditation or voluntary prayer" was a law respecting the establishment of religion and thus violated the First Amendment. In 1987, Edwards v. Aguillard, SCOTUS heald that Louisiana's "Creationism Act" that forbid the teaching of the theory of evolution in public elementary and secondary schools unless accompanied by instruction in the theory of "creation science" violated the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment.

I'm having a hard time coming up with anything anti-religion under Obama. Rick Perry, can you please show me what landmark legislation or court cases Obama advocated that are a War on Religion?
