My DC has gotten a great education in the upper grade---could it be your child? or you? maybe the school's not a good fit?

Nah, just waiting for my kid to get a quality education in both subjects. And waiting. And waiting.

DC attends the missing school. No worries. Will be going private by 4th.

why don't you go private now and spare us all? buh-bye!!!

Nah, we want Mandarin. Lose the 'Tude. Will be interesting how many will stay past 4th or 5th. Especially with all the planning and curriculum planned for the upper grades. Love the school, actually, but not holding much hope for middle school.

so are you doing anything to help or just sitting back and waiting to be served? lose your own 'tude.

Here's why Yu Ying wasn't on the list: eat your hearts out, haters!! See you next year!!!
"Schools
and programs using the
accountability plan will not be
tiered or rated for the 2010–11
school year"

Also, the report say, "For a more detailed explanation of the indicators, see our user guide." But I can't find the user guide.

I heard a radio report on this. I agree it is confusing. The radio report said the methodology combined test scores, attendance, and other factors.

I also looked at the Yu Ying report (it was mentioned as a 'non-standard school' -- along with a bunch of others): http://www.dcpubliccharter.com/data/images/yuying_ap10-11.pdf

Center City Trinidad was Tier I. Their report looks a lot different. Totally different format and questions:

Agree it is very confusing.

I may be dumb but I could not figure out ( granted I did not spen much time perusing the info) how it worked. I cld not find YY (I am assuming that is the one referred to by pps) in high, med or low performing but did find it's report card which said it was meeting 7 targets (ie all). I am not trying to prompt a discussion on the merits (or not) of YY. Just confused by methodology/presentation.

Yes, but it's not high-performing. Just highly annoying.
