Since it has worked for others, I may try to sign up DH when it reopens in January, but if I don't finish my Christmas shopping in the next 3 days, I'm screwed. At this point, it KILLS me to pay for shipping on anything.

I heard somewhere that they are planning to reopen Amazon Mom after the holidays, so you could try then. But they have cut the Amazon Mom S&S discount from 30% to either 20 or 25%, so slightly more expensive on the items you order regularly.
In the meantime, I am just spending a little more energy to group purchases to meet the $25 free shipping threshhold.
