I agree with this. I don't think we've looked at any private school that doesn't have foreign language starting in K.

I think GDS starts language later.

Lowell also has Spanish in K and has one Spanish speaking teacher as one of the two teachers in each of the classrooms. The Spanish is integrated as part of the rest of the curriculum at that age (not a separate pull out class) but is part of what is taught most days as I remember.

Harbor School has Spanish too.

I agree w/PP that if you want immersion go for the lottery in public school.

Feynman School in Bethesda has Spanish every day in kindergarten. There is a Spanish-fluent assistant teacher in the classroom for the entire day, Monday through Friday, and generally 30 - 45 minutes each day are dedicated to Spanish. Also, the students converse with the teacher--and increasingly, amongst each other--in Spanish during centers time, arts & crafts, lunch, on the playground, and in the extended day program. Spanish is incorporated into the music program as well. When the students are doing science and math, the discussion is in English.

I am interested in a private kindergarten program with a Spanish component -- a regular class or even immersion. We are in Montgomery County. Any recommendations? Thanks so much.
