Just want to point out that you're absolutely fucking insane if you think a President Clinton would be less "polarizing" than Obama. The reason Obama (or any other Democrat) is polarizing is that it's a long-running GOP strategy to radically demonize any Democratic politician who does anything but capitulate to the craziest demands of the far-right wing of the GOP. Hell, they do the same to moderate Republicans (the few that are left).

Just out of curiosity: Are you under 25? Because this is the exact same script we've seen playing out since Clinton's first days in office, if not Carter's. The second Obama was sworn in, the GOP worked tirelessly to paint this guy (who has essentially the same political leanings as Bob Dole) as a Marxist tool. And "right-leaning independents" just eat that shit up. After all, there must be something to it if the professional outrage-guys are all outraged.

Now if we could only get someone more moderate and centrist in the White House. Like Hilary. I'm sure the GOP can find a way to work with her.

Hilarious.

Well said.

I get the feeling your idea of "centrist" is any president who would end funding for education and environmental protection, automatically authorize anything that has the word "military" in it, and put the 99% under the Christian equivalent of Sharia law.

The GOP is getting so far right, they should be coming around the left side soon. Well, if the world was round.

It is sad how only the Right demonizes and polarizes. What planet are you living on anyway?

You mean like how Bill Clinton did not polarize the right. Okay, sure you are right. They demonized both Bill and Hillary. They created rumours that Hillary killed her lover, all sorts of crap. The criticized every action she made, down to her last name. You do remember when she was Hillary Rodman and the peeps in Washington forced her to change her name to Clinton. Brrrr

So, Newt.

If Newt is the next president, I hope and pray the Dems surgically bond themselves together in united opposition to him.

And I will establish myself as Hillary's first SuperPAC.

Well, I'm not sure that the Democrats will actually ban together and thwart everything. But even if they do I think there are a lot of things that can be done by a President through persuasion, executive order and other means even if Congress isn't working with the President. But I also think that no action is better than negative actions, and a Republican president would effectively stop several of the democratic policies that have been very bad for the country.

If a Republican President is elected in 2012, what do you think he can accomplish if the Democrats finally band together and thwart and fillibuster everything?
