Are you from the South?

No, I'm an Northeasterner. Upstate NY. And I will continue to call him "Daddy."

Not the OP, but I take issue with the use of "daddy" and "mommy" by anyone over the age of ten.

OP, you just want to have a problem with something. I don't use those words but I seriously don't give a shit when other people do

I used these words before I became a parent, but I am probably just immature.

There are problems, and then there are nitpicks. This is a nitpick.

19:51 posting again. I confess...I use the word "veggies" all the time too.

The word veggies is very annoying.

I am a "yummy" offender from the coffee yogurt thread. Oh OP will you ever forgive me for using such childish terms? I know, I know having a preschooler and toddler doesn't excuse this. How could I?

Lucky you if this is your only real stress. I myself have a parent newly diagnosed with cancer and the whole sanwich generation thing going on among other things so that takes up more of my time than worrying about word choice.

belly is a childish word?

I guess those of us who use those words still have a bit of kid in us. Nothing wrong with that.

I'm drinking some yummy coffee w/ baileys right now and it's really warming my belly. This cookie is going to be soooooo yummy, too after I chomp it up and it hits my belly.

OP, are you seriously out of other more pressing things to worry about?

Why? Why people now use "yummy" all the time? I see it constantly on these forums. Really, there are many more appropriate words for the over 8 crowd. Along with "tummy". And "belly". And others of their ilk. When did this become acceptable or fashionable?

Yes, yes, I know there are more important things to worry about out there. I just find it interesting and disconcerting that supposed educated and literate adults need to resort to words that are often used by those toddling around clutching bottles.
