OP here. I am specifically looking for a horse made of wood in a natural or neutral color.

Thanks.

We bought our DS a rocking horse (actually a cuddly lion instead of horse shape) from CVS for Christmas last year when he was 19 months. It was around $20, made noise when the ear was squeezed and never once has tipped in the last year he has used it. It was his favorite gift last year and has recieved many, many kisses and hugs - and he likes to put his other toys on it for rides, too. I've seen horses in their stores again this year. CANNOT see spending over $30 for something a child is not going to use for that long.

We also have the Ikea one. My DS (15 months) LOVES it. It was $20.

It's not a toy, OP. This is room decor for staging a home for selling.

Ok, how about these two:

BTW, thanks for the comments re practicality of the toy. I am looking for something that will be used but also something that will last.

When my DD was about that age we bought her the red rocking moose from Ikea. I think it was $25 or so. She loved it. Why pay $250 for that?

Not practical at all. I don't see how a kid could use this, and if it's just for decoration it's a very specific style that some people might not like.

OP, I'm sure your intentions are pure here. But this doesn't look all that comfortable for a toddler. This would be the type of toy that you buy more for the parent if the child already has "everything". If your intentions are for the child to actually use it, get one that is colorful and has springs on it as well so that they can jump and rock and really abuse the toy in the way it was meant to be abused.

It's room decor -- better be sure Mom will like it, or as PP said, it'll be in the garage inside a year.

It is absurdly expensive.

That's the right age for a rocking horse. My kids started using it around 16 months, but before they turned 2 the rocking was so forceful and strong they could tip it over, so rocking horses have a short shelf life.

It's beautiful, but I am guessing my almost 16 month old would fall off, and I'm not sure the use would justify the price.
