You might try Duluth Trading Post (website or catalog). They have a variety of jeans designed for men with stockier builds. Excellent customer service, too.

Can you take him to a big-and-tall store and have a professional recommend various sizes/brands?

If not jeans, he may find another alternative to khakis.

Forgive me, ladies, for asking about men's clothing. I'm married to a big guy - 6'4" (real height, not match.com height) and 285 lbs. And, let's just say that while he has muscle and works out, he's not exactly buff. He ONLY wears khakis. He wears khakis to work, to dinner, to mow the lawn, to go apple picking, to do everything except work out. I'd like to get him a pair of nice jeans for Christmas or at least a gift card for nice jeans. Any ideas on what type of jeans would work on a big guy? He says that he looks ridiculous in jeans because he's so tall and he's also high waisted. I'd like to see him try to diversify his wardrobe.
