If you're looking for a project, you could do a Special Olympics scarf -

Good luck!

Here is my favorite book that I've worked from. I found that handling 2 pieces of yarn at once, rather than just one, makes the afghan bigger, bulkier, and it's faster to finish. this book is great for these afghans.

My neighbor is who taught me the beginning stitches. then she showed me how to follow the patterns in the book so that I could be off and running on my own. If you can find someone to show you a single crochet and a double crochet, you'll be set!!

I can't recommend a specific site but I know there are tons of videos on youtube. I have used it myself when confronted with an unfamiliar stitch.

I was inspired so I bought a crochet hook and skein of yarn today. I saw people recommend books and classes but I was hoping I could find an online site I could use before I commit to books or taking a course. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!
