I wonder what MK would have said if the pepper spray incident had taken place at a Tea Party event. Her entire tone here was to defend the police.

Mustard gas is essentially a food product too.

Uh I would easily rather be dragged to the police car. Have you ever had this stuff in your lungs? One of the protectors was vomiting blood.

There is a reason the police lied about why they used it. What they did was wrong. Thank God someone got it on tape.

that is a ridiculously inapt non sequitur... will you volunteer to be pepper sprayed on camera and report to us how benign it is? We're waiting ... you may sound less like a fool when you're unable to speak due to the effects of the spray. Its inventor stated this week that this use is entirely inappropriate and was never intended; it was designed to be used only in self defense in case of physical attack.

You're kidding, right?
It is completely inappropriate, per the guy who perfected pepper spray 30 years ago. It was always intended for self-defense, not for offensive attacks.

What does she call a taser? A consumer electronic product, essentially?

Why would anyone spell their name "Megyn"? Looks like ob-gyn.

Sorry for the digression.

Or put it in her mud mask at the spa, instead of cucumber.

Great, where does she dine? I can send over one of those foggers and the wait staff can switch it with the pepper mill.

well ...
megyn kelly, like many on Faux News, is an idiot.

Perhaps you saw the research published yesterday that people who watch Faux News are less well informed than people who don't watch any news.

She's a moronic shill, why would we expect any intelligent commentary or analysis from her?

http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2011/11/megyn-kelly-calls-pepper-spray-a-food-product.html

Hear ye, hear ye, good people, now watch what this food product did to this 84-year old woman from Occupy Seattle (warning: THIS PICTURE COULD MAKE YOU SICK--I'M STILL REELING):

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/23/us/pepper-sprays-fallout-from-crowd-control-to-mocking-images.html?_r=1

I wonder what an 84-year old is doing, braving the elements to supposedly protest inequality? Surely, she must be bitchin' (as the Occupy Bagram folk portray it) for the right to not move her lazy butt for the rest of the many years she has left to live?

From the same NYT article:

"To Kamran Loghman, who helped develop pepper spray into a weapons-grade material with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the 1980s, the incident at Davis violated his original intent.
“I have never seen such an inappropriate and improper use of chemical agents,” Mr. Loghman said in an interview.
Mr. Loghman, who also helped develop guidelines for police departments using the spray, said that use-of-force manuals generally advise that pepper spray is appropriate only if a person is physically threatening a police officer or another person. "
