I put the thing in the oven at about 7am just to get it over with. It's on 325 and just sits in there for hours. I do add more water and then a bottle of beer at about 11.

I'm not a regular baster. If people want dinner later than 3 i just turn it down.

That should be enough for 11 adults, or if you want a lot of leftovers then get a larger turkey. It should say on the packaging of the turkey how long to cook the turkey per each lb. I'd go with those instructions. You can use an oven bag and then you won't have to baste it.

Also, is that how much I need for serving 11 adults??
