No more excuses. The school is run by deadbeats who don't respond to messages. Don't even consider taking them seriously.

Another Discovery Woods parent here. Yes, it is a great school and yes, the admin side is lacking. They're working on it though. I know that doesn't excuse the lack of responsiveness. Parents in the community are trying to help. I am willing to answer any questions that are within my purview (and try and find out answers to other questions. My e-mail: jillbraun[at]aol.com

The issue is not construction, they were just as unresponsive in mid to late 2010. We were persistent enough to get to an open house and eventually got offered a last minute spot (which we couldn't take on such short notice). The website is perpetually out of date, so I wouldn't trust the current details saying they have January openings. They are pretty much my dream school so far as philosophy, but the commute out to Wolf Trap and the lack of ability on the business end have held me back from pursuing further. Good luck, and if you get admitted please let us know if it's awesome enough to be worth it.

This particular school is in a private home and they do not advertise their phone number.

Discovery Woods parent here. The school is in the midst of construction to meet county licensing requirements to accomodate the demand for larger enrollment, so everyone there has a lot going on. My advice is to just continue e-mailing, or call the main number, but they aren't taking admissions at the moment (they are maxed out until the construction is completed), so I can tell you that when they contact you, you will probably be given a packet and told when the next open house is happening, since that is their main form of educating new families. I guess you have to see it to believe it.

Are they really a preschool now? They used to be a home based daycare that called themselves a preschool but I think they were working on transitioning.

Do you really want to go to a school that can't be bothered returning emails/contacts?

They might not any spaces or be focused on admissions right now. I tried to contact them for months until I finally heard back (when they kicked off admissions). One of the parents runs the admissions so she might just be too busy to respond right now.

It's been 3 weeks and I still haven't heard from them. I filled out their Contact Form on the website and emailed Rebecca (got her email from their Facebook site).
Can anyone shed some light on why they won't contact me?
