I second Maggiano's in Tyson's - it is perfect for this situation

Never heard of such a thing at a restaurant before.

I agree - I thought we would go to Sweetwater Tavern for a last minute birthday celebration, and when I called ahead, they couldn't accommodate us. Since it was so last minute, we ended up at Silver Diner, which actually worked out great since it was for a child, but I was hoping for something a little nicer. Next time we'll go to Maggiano's or somewhere in the Tysons malls - they are good with groups.

yes, if you like food that was delivered to the restaurant frozen on a truck and reheated, that is the way to go.

Hate to tell youi, but that's how they get the food at a lot of restaurants. Anyway, it's what tastes good to me that counts. OP asked for opinions, and that's mine.

Just do Carmines. As you probably know (because you have been there)... only way to go for a large group in the DC area. If not and in VA, maybe Mike's American/Carlyle?

We also had a great experience a few weeks ago at a family brunch for 12 at Chadwicks in Old Town.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good restaurant for a family lunch for 10 people? We have a couple vegetarians and a toddler in the group. It's for a birthday meal, and we have liked Zaytinya, Carmine's, and various pizza places (2 Amy's, Orso) in the past. Partial to N. Va, but we're flexible. Thanks!
