Oh, this thread stirs bad memories. I was living abroad one summer recently and was placed with a family whose adorable little dog had its own facebook page. The teenage daughter - who, ironically, had decided to become a vet - abused the dog relentlessly and horribly. There was no question of saying anything about it to responsible authories, because the only thing that would have happened would have been worse treatment of the dog, and a whole range of other problems. What an awful, sickening experience.

My sister made a Facebook page for the lizard that was hiding under her stove. He occasionally posts comments about stealing her wifi, taunting comments about her other pets and rude comments about her cooking. It is hilarious! She doesn't have tons of time, just a twisted sense of humor.

Am am noticing a few people do this. And I was just wondering if it is something normal people do. My friend has one for her two dogs. The picture she has on the profile was taken by a professional photographer. This person has two adorable kids, and a nice husband and home. She is not a "crazy cat lady" type. Her dogs send out witty "dog" posts and such. Example: Her dogs with send a message to her Dad's cat and then her dad and her will banter back and forth. I noticed not many people comment on what her dogs post. And the dogs have not sent me a friend request yet (what is up with that). I am not judging her, I just wondered if it was normal. I don't have a problem with people doing this, it just seems like a lot of work, (she is a SAHM). If you have examples of people doing this, please share. I need a good laugh today.
