I got one a few years ago--it was already in brine. It was great.

Last year I got my turkey at Roots market in Olney. It was great, and it was cheaper than Whole foods (I didn't get the full out organic one, but I got one that was antibiotic/hormone free).

I was just at WF's looking at the turkeys. None of the whole turkeys were small enough -- I might only be cooking for two. Even the turkey breasts were at least $35 each. Sheesh. Any other suggestions for an affordable, quality turkey?

11:21 again - I always get mine from WF and have wonderful experiences.

Don't get me wrong - I love TJs, just not for certain things...

Wow. Thanks for that warning. I'll go back to WF.

I wouldn't do it, but only because I am SUPER skeptical of all TJ's perishable goods. Even at the downtown DC store, where the turnover is high, I have had several bad experiences - perishables go bad almost immediately. I think that most TJs trucks sit for quite a while before being unloaded/stuff sits before being refrigerated. Flowers, meat, milk, yogurt, vegetables, cheese - I have had all go bad within 1-2 days of buying.

Well, I am sure someone has if they sell them.

How are they?
