We went to Dr. Conlon as well and really liked him. Good luck.

We also see Dr. Conlon and think very highly of him. Please note that he has ADHD himself and isn't always timely in getting his reports to you. I have, however, found him very responsive to email and deadlines. When I absolutely have to have that report by X date for the IEP meeting, he's always gotten it to me. My kids also ADORE him and I feel he really gets them. He spent a lot of time with my DH and I talking about ADHD and medication. He didn't push it one way or the other but was very factual about how the medication works. He's also worked very well with my regular pediatrician. We only see Dr. Conlon about once a year (once for each kid) but whenver there's a question, he's been responsive by email.

We are using Dr Shapiro and that is correct. He is only taking new patients who are 4 and under.

16:37 again. Yes, that is exactly what he told me.

I just learned that our practice has a new developmental ped. starting next month to replace Dr. Chernoff, so i think we'll give her a try. Her name is Cathleen McGrath.

No experience with Karin Belsito yet. But when I called Dan Shapiro and he told me he was no longer working with kids older than 4, he recommended her. I called 2 weeks ago and our appointment is in March 2012.

We have a 5 yo son who was diagnosed earlier this year with ADHD. We had seen Dr. Robin Chernoff, a developmental pediatrician at our regular practice, but she recently retired. It seems that the OT and behavioral therapy we've been doing are only working so much to address some of his issues. His K teacher has been great and has been implementing a behavior contract with some success for keeping his hands off of others/respecting personal space. But he is still exhibiting major impulse-control issues, to the point of really disrupting the class and costing him socially. There are definitely some attentional issues becoming more apparent now too. He is otherwise a very bright, likable kid. We feel ourselves inching closer to trying meds, so I'm looking for someone to take over his case. We don't need an evaluation or anything, just someone to review his records/reports and be able to prescribe medication. We are in the N.Bethesda/Rockville area. Wondering if anyone has any recs or has any experience with Dr. Karen Belsito.
