Jeff- Thank you for the kind words about parents of kids with SN. I did not post on that thread, nor did I know it existed, but it's always nice to have someone give praise to parents of kids with SN. It makes up for the rude comments and looks of horror we have gotten in the past when our kids with SN are not at their best.

I agree with this completely. That's why I have stepped up my involvement in controlling threads (against my own better judgement, I might add). That thread is 12 pages long and will take me a bit to get through it. I tried just reading the last page and was really lost. What is that message about the trust fund cousin all about?

Anyway, it's probably too late to save that thread. But, I'll take a look and figure out something.

OP here: I noticed the thread was really long, looked at the last few pages. Sorry, but angry people spewing crap like that is what gives DCUM a bad name. I didn't comment on the thread, don't plan on going back to it, but since Jeff has stepped up on this kind of stuff, wanted him to know. He can do what he thinks is fit, but I personally think it's sad when people turn this anonymous forum into a place to spew their vitriolic opinions that do no one any good.

Although that thread has gone off the rails, I really have never understood grownups appealing to the sight administrator on an anonymous forum with what is essentially, "People are being mean! Make them stop!" OP, if you don't like it, don't read it. No one, including you, is forced to either participate or view the thread. Isn't that an easier solution than, "Jeff. Jeeefff!!!! Please make sure people don't say mean things!"

Jeff, the helicopter parenting thread in the GP forum has devolved into verbal mud-slinging between several (or maybe just one) nut jobs w/ apparent axes to grind. Can it be locked or discarded? The original point of the thread has long been abandoned in favor of an SN vs NT parent brawl.
