Hmm. Well if it's just a sale price, then I think Giant will match it anyway. But in this case, it's a store coupon (from Safeway) for a specific price. At Giant, I believe you cannot combine a store and manufacturer's coupon on the same item anyway.
Ok I just looked at Giant's site. They make no mention of store coupons, perhaps because they don't really have them? (They do Catalinas)
OP here. That's wrong. You can use one mfr coupon & one store coupon per item. Also, the website specifically says you can use competitor coupons, which by definition means store (as opposed to mfr) coupons from other stores. Giant does occasionally print coupons of their own; there were some in this week's flyer for the upcoming week. And catalinas, for the most part, are mfr coupons that can be used anywhere. Once in a while they are store coupons but usually they are mfr.
I wasn't asking about matching a sale price, though, I was asking about using a competitor's store coupon in Giant. So, for example, say Safeway has cereal for $3 but they printed a coupon that you can use to get it for $2. The coupon is not "$1 off cereal," it's "cereal, $2 with coupon" so you have to use the coupon to get that price. If you just walk into Safeway without the coupon, you would pay $3. If I were in Safeway, I could use the Safeway coupon + a mfr coupon, if I had one, for the same cereal. I was wondering if Giant would do the same. I know I could use a Safeway "$1 off cereal" and a mfr "$1 off cereal" to get $2 off the same box of cereal in Giant. I do that all the time. Their policy is one of each type of coupon per item.
