Could you explain this a bit more, please?

Agree with poster concerning Tae Kuk. Master Moon is still there in a beautiful new enlarged studio.
Have attended Flying kick for summer camp and it was nicely-run but should be for those we are into martial arts as there was little outside time.

We liked Tae Kuk martial arts (in the Trader Joes bdlg off Wisconsin and Bradley area). At the time, Master Moon ran the studio. He was amazing with the kids. He has four kids, so he gets kids. He got the boys to behave and have fun all at the same time. Very impressed.

I don't think Flying Kick is bad (although it is expensive) but pp specifically asked about other places

Our experience (not in this area) was that some of the Martial Arts places were little pyramid schemes -- open a place, then try to get others to take it over, while you moved to open a new one. There are so many around it is hard to believe that they are all qualified to teach actual martial arts, or that they do not provide a new belt every six months to everyone. Compare the number to dance studios, and it has got to be 4-1 Martial Arts to Dance.

I think lots of people make it look bad by not reading/ applying the contracts and they are surprised when things go wrong. It is rarely about the quality of teaching that is wrong.

On the mat is great. The instructors are young and energetic and the kids love them. Everyone who works there makes you feel so comfortable.

Bump. All the threads I see are older, so I would appreciate any recent information/experience. My son will be 5. Thanks!

I am seeking feedback on some of the places that have not been discussed much here, Cole's and the new place On the Mat. I would especially like to know how they compare to Flying Kick.
