The best part of this is that the OP sock puppeted a response to herself. Can you add "I won't sock puppet" to the pledge?

How about this? Be thoughtful.

What would y'all reply to the original post, anyhow, and what's the goal of the post in the first place? That we all clean up our acts on DCUM? We love one another unconditionally? We are absolved from sin if we confess online? Can't help it...OMG!!! LOL if you must...I'm backing out of this condo so carry on, silly girls.

To me, while some of the content of the pledge seems sincere (let's be nicer), the underlying message seems somewhat holier-than-thou and like a not-to-subtle attempt to model behavior - "I'm great - if you could be more like me, you'd be great too and DCUM would be a greater place."

Kind of like a chastity pledge.

5,4,3,2,1 and there you have it. If I could predict tomorrow night's powerball numbers I would really feel complete.

The reason this is an anonymous forum is so people may vent, unguarded and guilt-free, with --in a best case--the end result being that you may walk away less burdened, more informed, able to digest those whose positions are opposite yours, and continue to evolve. This self-inflicted penance is better exercised in the church of your choice. On DCUM, buckle up and give, take, learn and get some skin. Watch a debate among hopeful presidential nominees, it's ugly but necessary to get to answers.

Your email reads like a 13-year old wrote it. OMG??? LOL

Totally agree. Immature people think the only way to keep it real is being acerbic.

I just want to say thank you to those who post thoughtful remarks that aren't meant to harm. I want to thank those who answer questions based on fact or first-hand experience, not hearsay. I thank those who believe there are many paths to a good education. Mostly, I want to thank those who seek to make our city and schools better by setting good examples for our children.
I want to take a public (if anonymous) pledge here and now that I will abide by all of the above and never stoop to insults or unkindness on this forum or any other. I'm better than that, and so are others.
