I used Lynn Kriss at Tysons, and she was amazing. Really helpful, a great eye for what brands would work on my body. She pulled a pair of shoes out for me that I NEVER would have even noticed normally, but they were as comfortable as bedroom slipers and a beautiful pewter/black color combination that goes with EVERYTHING (from browns, greys, and blacks!).

The cons - Nordstrom's is pricey. I spent about $1000 and left with 2 work dresses, 1 pair of fabulous dress shoes, and 1 pair of the perfect jeans.

It was not a high presure situation at all - I didn't feel pressured to buy anything, so she wasn't pushy or anything.

I've done it and liked the experience. It is a good way to make the shopping faster and easier and get some input on your choices. (I first did it when my DH bought me a gift card as a present and then encouraged me to sign up for a personal shopping trip). Like anything it depends somewhat on how you click with the particular shopper. The main benefits are that she will talk with you about what you want and bring you a selection and she knows the inventory really well so she can do it much more easily than you looking through all the racks. It also feels a little special to have someone who is pulling different sizes, colors, shoes to match, etc. for you. Overall a plus and doesn't cost anything if you would already be looking to buy the clothes.

I've heard that Nordstrom has a free personal shopper service. Does anyone have any experience with it? Good or bad... I'm not looking to spend a ton, but really could use some new clothes & a better "look" now that I'm post-baby and heading back to work. Thanks for any feedback!
