Just FYI, most of the "collection" agencies who call relatives are scammers. I had an experience with debt collectors calling my own dad and my in-laws about an old debt allegedly owed to sprint wireless for 5K. I never had a sprint phone, it was not my debt. Total scam. They think you'll be embarrassed into paying without asking too many questions. So go easy on your ex...it might not be a real thing.

My XH just moved to the area (we share a child, he has visitation) and 2 days later, my ex-fiance contacted me on FB. I hadn't spoken to him in 2 years.

Both were abusive, the XH in every way but physical, the ex-fiance was physical as well. During my divorce, XH hacked into my email account and contacted ex-fiance to try and bolster his claim that I was mentally unstable and an unfit mother. It didn't work, but was a great scare tactic when they both started harrassing me online and over the phone. I had temporary RO's out on both of them for a while.

I didn't think the timing of the ex-fiance was a coincidence and hadn't realized he wasn't blocked on FB (XH is and has been for a while). He is now blocked and I pray every day I won't run into either one of them by chance.

Similar to you my ex from college... who broke my heart and took me years to get over, has a child at the same elementary and we live about 5 blocks from each other. AWKWARD

My ex-husband, we had no kids and he treated me terribly. Had no contact with him for 2 years then started getting phone calls (no one would answer). Shortly after that he contacted me by email a week before I got married. It was a long email in which he talked about how I was the one he always loved, he wanted to be friends. I never responded to the email (happened 9 years ago). I dont want to invite him in my life in any sort of way.

OP, I can relate- the guy is not an ex, exactly, but he is the first guy I ever kissed at Dewey Beach. Our kids are in the same preschool, though not the same class. We had a funny semi-awkward conversation about it early on and now he's just someone I say hi to, every day.

Reading my hometown paper I found out that my ex's family recently donated millions to my alma mater and had an auditorium named after them.

FB and then he started wanting to text me. Ummmm no thanks buddy. He claimed it was bc he hasn't spoken our native language to someone in a while. He also started commenting on my fb pics about how beautiful I still am. It was time to defriend.

He moved into the area. Bumped into him, literally, when I was texting and walking at Union Station. I was speechless (hadn't seen him in 10 years). Just couldn't believe it. We caught up, oooh'd over our kids' pictures, it was actually kinda cool.

Mostly just Facebook.

I spent my pre-marriage years on the west coast, so most of my exes still live there.

Although, funny thing...through Facebook, I found out that one ex, lives out here now. I can actually see his house from a shop that I visit about once a month, and he worked on the same realty team that sold us our house!
