I agree that a visit to each school is a good idea. Like PP, my children are at another RM cluster elementary school (though actually only one now - the older two are at RM and JW). If I were choosing between the two, I would pick Beall, mostly because I like the neighborhoods that feed into Beall better and I have more friends who've sent kids through Beall (all of them loved it).

I have never been to either school, but my son's school is in the same cluster, so I pay attention to what's going on at them since the kids will all be meeting up at Julius West for middle school.

Twinbrook was built in 1952 and last modernized in 1986. Beall was built in 1954 and modernized in 1991. Both are crowded, as is all of the schools in the Richard Montgomery cluster.

A 5th elementary school has been recommended for the RM cluster, which well help overcrowding for the 4 elementary schools in the RM cluster. This school hasn't been approved - only recommended. It is scheduled to be ready for the 2015-2016 school year.

Twinbrook is expected to have its next modernization in Jan 2021... roughly 9-10 years from now.

I'm not saying to "not move" into to either of these schools' neighborhoods based on facility statistics. A friend of mine is at Beall and likes that they get the benefit of smaller class sizes. I highly recommend visiting each school.

As said in previous posts, Twinbrook seems to have issues with its current Principal...

Beall is a "focus" school so they also have reduced class sizes but not all the support of a title one. I would go visit both..

Looking at houses that we can actually afford in Montgomery County & wanted to get feedback on these 2 schools. I know that Twinbrook is Title 1, which means smaller classes & better teacher-student ratios, but Beall looks good too. Any thoughts?
