Wait, the Dems actually have negotiating tactics? As if they think, "this is an actual strategy" before they give away the farm?

Yeah, I know; that's what my last sentence was about.

I think you nailed it Jeff, but they're not wrong. I may be dissapointed with Obama, but I'm sure not voting for any of the wingnuts the Republicans have running. I feel trapped by poor choices and have for my entire voting life. I really thought the President was going to be something other than he is. I know some of it is the hand he was dealt but other things such as Gitmo, "evolving" thinking on equal rights for all Americans. Well, I am disappointed but trapped.

I think you are being far too charitable simply accusing the Dems of ineptness. Here is what I believe is a more likely scenario:

Step 1: Hey, Wall Street, give me money and I'll carry your water.

Step 2: Hey, progressives, vote for me and I'll stand with you instead of Wall Street (don't worry, Wall Street, wink, wink).

Step 3: Here is everything you wanted Wall Street.

Step 4: You F'ing R*tard Progressives should be drug tested if you don't understand that the Republicans forced us to compromise. Vote for us or the Republicans will really screw you.

Step 1: "OK, you can have everything you want."

Step 2: "Can we have what we want?"

Step 3: "What?! But why not? It's really important and sensible!"

Step 4: "Can we have 1/2 of what we want, then? How about 1/4? Please?"

Etc.

The Superdupercommittee: another fine legislative body composed of lunatics and people who meet them 95% of the way.

This is why people believe you less and less, Dems - no one can be this bad at their job for this long.
