Once I received one of these and DH threw away the envelope and I had no idea who it was from. But that's not the only reason I detest this kind of card- to me it just represents the most minimal effort possible. Yes, I have children. yes I work. Yes, i go to a lot of trouble to send a few, carefully planned /chosen cards. I might include a nice family photo if I have one. But it always has an inscription of some kind. It's usually from a vacation or someplace special. I value this much more than a mass mailing that equates a birth announcement. Or duplicates a birth announcement! Yikes!

Why do you bother? E cards ARE tacky. Nobody wants one. It is not a substitute for a real card.
It is funny that you admit it is tacky and still you don't care. It is like saying "I send Chia Pets and fruitcakes to all my relatives. I don't care if they are tacky or taste awful. If I sent you a "real" gift you might not like it anyway so at least I am not wasting my time."

My life is not worse without this hassle. In fact it is much easier now. Makes me enjoy the holidays so much more.[/quote
