DH here. Older women can be attractive, but generally speaking not as attractive as younger women. This is simply the truth. There really isn't anything that can be done about it, and taking aggressive steps to try to hang on to the appearance of youth generally do more harm than good, especially in the long term. We've got a limited time here, and as we age things start to be taken away. All you can do is make the best of what you have.

Or as TSFG says, it depends on who's doing the looking. There's something about a young woman that's attractive. There are things about women in their 30s and 40s that I find incredibly attractive now. Women in their forties who are adventurous, fun, fit, and no fretting about life are incredibly attractive to me. And *sexy* attractive, not "aw, isn't that nice" attractive. On the other hand, while I still like looking at women in their twenties, I find I have a harder and harder time stomaching their horrible toxic, self-absorbed personalities. As Dan Savage once wrote, everyone likes to look at women in their 20s. No one can stand talking to them.

Female (39, decent looking) here - you could age well, into a very attractive 40. You'll turn fewer heads than you did in your 20's, but you will probably stand out more from women your age. Women who are attractive and take care of themselves stand out from the crowd more as we age and bad habits start to take their toll. I have a bunch of 40-something friends and some of them are ridiculously attractive, and they still get hit on all the time, though less often than they did at 25. Cheer up. (and try to accept the inevitable - we all age!)

OP, once you hit 40 you won't give a sh*t anymore. Seriously.

I am 42 and married to a very pretty younger (6 or so years) woman. I would find a 25 year old "6" hotter than a 42 year old "8". If that makes any sense. So being young give you a few ranking points. But a "10" is always going to be super attractive and a "4" is never going to be. But yeah, young women are just prettier and sexier. Evolutionary men are programmed to find females of prime productive age to be the best. But a fat or unattractive 25 year old is not going to suddenly be great just because she is young.

I do find myself turning my head at young women who, when I was their age, I would not have given them a second glance.

"Youthfulness" - hmm...It's hard to say, but what I think strikes me as more attractive about younger women is skin & body tone and perkiness. The perkiness isn't terribly meaningful - doesn't do more for me than attract my attention.

If you're asking whether the average woman is more physically attractive when she's younger, of course. So I guess that younger women are generally more attractive, but that's a pretty broad brush.

Younger women tend to be more attractive for the obvious reasons, but those factors aren't everything. There are lots of women I couldn't stand talking to long enough to get naked. And once I've been intimate (even kissing), those impressions and experiences tend to dominate. My DW doesn't look much like a porn star, but she's almost all I fantasize about.

It works both ways - it's the same for most men. Johnny Depp and Paul Newman are the exceptions, but even George Clooney is starting to look old. It's just a fact - youth has a lot going for it - fast metabolism, natural muscle tone, taut skin, perky boobs on women and hair on men. Them's the breaks.

Woman here. I think it depends on the guy. I work with a guy who loves older women, he says he has always been like that. I think his upper limits though are just under 50 and don't get me wrong, he is a cougars only type guy, so they are stellar older women

Older men (your age and older) will find you attractive.

I prefer younger women. Generally better looking with better bodies and younger skin.

Woman here. Beauty fades. Dumb is forever. I think that sums it up, OP.

Sexy goes a lot farther than hotness when you are older. And men are interested on more than youth as we get older. So it is more complicated. When you are young, a hot chick is great. After you have been around the block, the looks aren't enough any more. Maybe you dated hot women and realized you can get just as tired of their shit as with the rest of your exes. Or maybe you just care more about the other things.

Quite simply, older women can be amazingly attractive, and not just to older men.

What you have to always remember, is that wether or not a man finds you attractive comes down more to his personal preference than anything else.
