I love whitewashed brick! I want to do it to our house, but we are on a block with 6 houses that look exactly the same and I don't want to make my neighbors hate me.

Wow, if I saw that, I'd assume someone tried really hard to remove white paint from their bricks but gave up after a long battle.

My father was a stone mason and bricklayer straight from Italy. He would have agreed that there's a crap load of ugly brick out there!

Also have to disagree. There are a lot of shabby looking brick houses in our neighborhood circa pre-WWII. Also, the TV show Curl Appeal has painted several brick houses and they always look great.

I agree. That's why I want to whitewash it instead of paint it. The brick on our house is unusually dark and looks bad.

Has anyone whitewashed a brick house? If so, can you recommend a company that does it? Also, what is the cost for an average size house? TIA
