She's just a total jerk. Just un-friended her (again) on FB.
I find that the longer I go without seeing or speaking to her, the more I'm just ok with it. But then we have to visit (b/c of the kids), and it's back to square one. If I could just cut off contact completely & not have to stress about seeing her again, I would be fine after a couple of months.

There's a difference between "typical" changes in relationships over time and not being able to stand being in the same room with someone. I don't speak to my mother at all except for the 3-4 times a year that I have to see her, and even then, it's impossible to have a conversation. I don't think that's a "typical" mother-daughter relationship.
