Safeway has the pasteurized eggs if you want to try those.

I ate over easy fried eggs throughout both my pregnancies, it was also one of the few things I could eat that didn't make me want to puke. I had an egg ham and cheese sandwich once or twice a week

Seriously? I have had a sunny side up egg almost every single day with every pregnancy (baby #4 due Feb.) I had no idea. And no, I won't stop because it's one of the few things that doesn't make me barf in the mornings.

I literally had NO idea that this was a problem until my OB mentioned it. Would kill for one.. but I'm going to wait. Not worth it.

I wouldn't sweat it at all. Have had many. On baby #4.

I knew I wasn't supposed to but I had sunny side up eggs a bunch of times while I was pregnant. I followed most other rules but this was one I felt comfortable breaking.

Officially on the no list, but I have happily eaten poached eggs and other soft-cooked eggs (and also medium cooked meat!) with nary a problem throughout (at term now). I just skip sketchy sources (buy quality meat/eggs at home and stick to trusted restaurants).

It really is based on your personal tolerance for risk. I don't care for sunny side up eggs, but I do like poached eggs, and I ate them during my pregnancy -- sometimes with crabmeat!

You can eat them, just buy pasteurized eggs. They do exist, they are a little more expensive than regular eggs though.

You'll get a lot of different opinions on this one. There are women on this board who eat sushi, and women on this board who would call Child Protective Services if they knew the identity of the sushi-eaters.
Personally, I wouldn't because it's just not worth it to me. That "what if?" thing just gets me every time.

I would not eat sunny side up eggs while pregnant.

I think the risk would be salmonella. Salmonella in eggs is pretty rare-so I would probably do it, if you feel like you have safe eggs. But it really depends on your comfort level. You could always ask your ob's opinion.

I love sunny side up eggs. I am craving for it so bad. Will this harm me if I will eat once in a while? I was told not to eat anything raw. Not sure, but could this cause birth defects? Sorry for the ignorance, first time mom to be here.
