Yes, I started wearing foundation this year at 49. I've stopped using powder products. My skin is dry enough that foundation no longer feels heavy and powder highlights my lines. I also went to the makeup counter to make sure my foundation and makeup were still a good color match (I had to go darker with foundation given more age-related darkening).

I wear foundation but I use an illuminator on top for a slight glow.

I'm 46 and don't wear any foundation. I think it looks really heavy on my face. After moisturizing really well, I dust with some loose powder to take off the shine. I also darken my eyebrows and use some light lipstick. If I'm going out, I'll do eye makeup but I think I look a lot "fresher" wearing less make up. When I was in my 20/30s, I could actually wear a lot more makeup than I do now.

I just use l'Oreal from the drug store. Works just fine. They are known to have the largest professional laboratory for studying cosmetics in the world.

Can anyone recommend their foundation? I find I can't get away without it as much as before but don't want to wear anything too heavy or pancaky.

yes. I wear foundation every day. I hate myself without it. My skin tone is too uneven.

This is EXACTLY what has happened with me with La Mer- wtf? It actually makes me paler and dry and flaky. I cannot believe what an idiot I was to scroll through dozens of obviously fake reviews to decide to plunk down that much $$. I feel so screwed by this. La Mer is completely fake do NOT buy into this scam.

Since leaving the workforce I stopped wearing it everyday (8 years) and now started wearing it again. I have more "sun freckles" here and there and my skin tone seems flat. I am going to look into a brightner too..

Regular use of Retin-A has helped keep me looking fresh, but the real difference that I notice is in how my skin looks on the days when I've gotten a good night's sleep/drunk plenty of water and the days I haven't. It used to be I could roll out of bed after an extra late night, throw down a cup of coffee and a hot shower, and look normal. Now if I did that - blech!

Have you noticed you don't look the same in certain colors? I didn't think my skin color changed that much, wrinkles yes but my tone did, even wearing black drains me.
