Mine did (exposed some sensitive tissue - ouch) from overbrushing. My dentist put enamel over the sensitive areas, solved the problem but cost me a pretty penny since my dental plan sucks.

I know use only extra soft toothbrushes.

you may not need surgery. if you're really worried about it go see Dr. Cram - google her and all her info will come up. she's a periodontist in Farrugut DC. you could ask her for an initial overview exam for less $ than the full exam and see if she goes for it. she recently saw me and gave me a second opinion on whether I needed gum surgery. since she didn't need to go a full exam she charged me less than her regular rate.

also, there are many websites out there discussing gum health - I found a lot of good info on the Mayo website.

Hi. Recession is not uncommon around teeth with very thin gum tissue or or surrounding bone. They are usually treated by gum graft procedure and are pretty successful. I am an oral surgeon and I do not primarily do those procedures but I can recommend a good periodontist for you. feel free to contact me through our website: www.facialart.com

I've noticed the gums below my bottom front teeth have receded - it seems sudden and my dentist didn't notice it at my check-up 6 months ago. I've made an appointment, but anybody else go through this? Is it hard to treat? I take good care of my teeth so this is upsetting.
