I kiss my toddler on the lips. It's sweet. As he grows up, I'll probably move to the cheek, but for now I see nothing wrong with a little peck on the lips. Born and raised on the east coast.

I kiss my baby DS on the lips. I imagine I'll stop when he's 4 or 5. I'm a Russian Jew.

I'm from Ohio and my family did this (parents and grandparents with kids, not aunts and uncles). I had only kissed my DD on her cheeks, chin, nose, belly button, or basically anywhere but her lips, but at 19mos she's now starting to kiss on the lips by choice.

I am 30 and still kiss my parents on the lips (including my Dad). I'm sure some people find that odd, but we've always been that way and i never thought anything of it. As I got older, I did notice that I was in the minority.

I feel like we did kisses on the lips as I was growing up. My family is from western NY. Maybe it was just that my mom wanted to.

We kiss our baby on the lips now. It just feels like the right thing to do!

I do it all the time - 1 yo daughter. I have no idea if my family did it or whatever, she is just too cute to resist. I never gave it a second thought.

I think different families have different norms. It's not necessarily"cultural". My family kisses on the lips; my SIL thought this was weird. We're all from the same area of the country and cultural background.

I'm from the NE and we don't do it as a regular thing (maybe once in a while for a baby).

Would never do this, even to babies. Must be a southern thing.

I was talking with a friend who is originally from Spain and she said parents kissing their kids/babies on the lips was one of the things that she found strangest about the US. My family is from the (US) South and we have always done this. Do you and what is your cultural background? Is this an English custom?
