Ceiba has a beautiful private room. My agency has had its holiday lunch there twice. Awesome food.

When I was a buyer at a bookstore I went to a dinner for an author's book launch at Taberna del Alabardero on I Street. We were in a private room and everything-- the environment, service, and food-- was amazing. I highly recommend it.

Chef Geoff's and Clydes have private rooms if you want something casual.

Lots of choices in downtown DC, depends on budget and preference. High-end: Oval Room. More budget conscious (and IMO better food), Corduroy. And everything in between. Most of the better steakhouses have private dining options.
