Subject: Do you and you DH dress up for dinner at home?
Well tonight we ate on the couch with my dh in a white undershirt and boxers and me in a tank top and shorts, no underwear of any sort. So yeah, we dress for dinner, just not up...

DH does insist that 18 yr old DS wear a shirt.

Before we had kids, DH and I almost never wore pants in the house. Underwear for us all the time. Now we try to set a good example and wear pajamas.

If you consider yoga pants and a stained T shirt "dressing up," then yes.

I come home and immediately change into comfy clothes, right after I wash my hands. My husband's work is very casual so he is usually in jeans or khakis. So not real formal, no. For me the point of being home is to be...at home.

Well, on the way home from work today, the cuffs of my pants got wet, so I changed in to sweats when I got home, but kids were climbing all over me and I had to get dinner started, so my work blouse stayed on. It was hot. DH managed to get changed into a T shirt and cargo shorts, and I was really jealous. My 4yo was also wearing sweatpants and a Tshirt, along with play work goggles and a cape. My 2yo was just in shirt, potty-training, ya know.

if by dress you mean wear some sort of clothes, yes. the 2 year old has been known to dine in only a diaper though.

Yes, we dress for dinner six nights a week. But the butler has his half-day on Sunday afternoons (he leaves after clearing up the bloody mary brunch), so on Sunday evenings, my husband comes to the table without a tie on. It's our special little bizarro-world ritual; I even serve the food myself, after the housekeeper has put it all on the table. Such fun. The children are of course in the nursery by dinnertime, but if they happen to see him tie-less on their way up, they laugh and laugh!

Sometimes he likes when I wear the French maid outfit.
