I've done the browning in advance and then put everything in the fridge. Not sure this is recommended, but it worked fine for me.

I cook everything in the slow cooker overnight, then transfer the cooked dish to the fridge in the morning, and reheat at dinner time. It takes me too long to prep a slow cooker meal in the morning.

I need to make dinner for our MIL tomorrow evening and am planning a beef stew in the slow cooker. Is it ok to prep everything and store in the slow cooker in the fridge tonight? Or do I risk losing flavor or freshness by doing this?
