Inspired has spots in K, 2nd, and 3rd--not preschool.

I gave up a spot at IT and I just read that they still have spots open. I would love to get a call from Logan! I am sure the person behind you on the waiting list will be thrilled. But as someone posted earlier, you have to do what is right for your kid. Good luck!

IT incorporates Montessori philosophy so you're getting some of it anyway.

I'd pick IT over Logan. Logan goes have a history, but it's kid of a short term solution. SO many kids just stay through the early grades. I also feel like both Peabody and Montessori really rest on their laurels and don't welcome new parents as they should. They don't sell themselves very well to new or current parents. And both Watkins and Montessori lose a lot of kids each year.

Yes - the plan is to go till 8th grade, one grade at a time.

This. Montessori isn't the be all-end all for every kid. Keep your IT spot. It's a balanced approach.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. You all have been so helpful. I feel I made the right decision. My DS absolutely loves his teacher and just tonight he told me "mommy, I love my new school". I am so glad to have the option of the two (although I am still enjoying a glass of vino to calm my mind). I turned down the slot within 20 minutes so another family could be called, I think that contributed to the 2nd guessing. We had expected the call and already decided with IT, but when the call actually comes, it isn't as easy.

I am another Inspired preschool parent. A few months ago, I would have chosen Logan Montessori. But my kid is so happy going to school and is learning so much -- from how to be a good friend to the days of the week to pre-literacy skills, all taught in a child-centered, loving environment. No, I would not have switched at this point.

and like PP said, you trusted your instincts and that's the best thng you can do. Very different ballgames: established, desirable, specialized DCPS vs. hot new charter. FWIW I know someone switched from Watkins/Logan to Inspired.

Good for you! Try not to fret. It's natural to get buyer's remorse or second guess your decision. But hey, you've got a preschooler. You deserve whatever insane happiness you can find at the moment.

If you ever feel bad (or like someone is judging you), just remind yourself the schools are really apples and oranges. Sort of like Harvard and Stanford. (OK, maybe not exactly like that...)

It's good karma to post about Logan. Someone else will be insanely happy there on your behalf.

We are one of the ridiculously happy families at Inspired, but what if the high wears off? I can't imagine that happening, I'm just on edge wondering if I made the right decision. We were low 20s for PS for anyone waiting, may get call tonight.
