The common recommendation form is used by most schools in the area. Schools require at least one from this year's teacher - rest assured he/she will have gotten to know your child enough to fill it out in December. Give it to them well before then though. If you download the forms from the Independent Education website the teacher can make copies and send one to each school. The forms from last year teacher can serve as the second recommendation if required.

We just moved here, so I was thinking of getting letters from my childrens' teachers from last year, instead of the ones that only know them a month. (My kids are in 1st and 2nd grade.)
Can I ask them for a letter and then use it for all schools? Or do most schools have specific forms that the teachers have to fill out? If you are going to apply to 6-8 schools, do they have to fill it out 6-8 times?
