NP. Thanks for the info. Was thinking about signing DS up but for OT we ultimately end up paying $50 per session after insurance reimbursement. LCF sounds too expensive for what it is.

our 4 yr DC also goes there. Ricardo is very good with kids and our DC loves there. But recently, we noticed that DC is not paying attention and getting distracted with the other group session going on. Till the other group session started, our DC was listening and responding very well. We saw some improvements.

Tried this place based on reviews here and we will probably be dropping it. Owner is a super nice guy and my kid loves the playroom, but sometimes having another session going on in the same room is distracting.

The waiting room is locked off from the play room and there is no window on the door. The 2 people who work at LCF seem great, but if I hear my kid get upset, I'd like to be able to peek in and know what's happening. I was told as needed I could go outside and peer in through the window..you know like a peeping Tom?!

Our experience has been opposite of PP. We started seeing results from OT with a month or 2, not the case with this. Great idea, but not life-changing.

We use the facility as well. He designs individualized programs for each kid so how a kid benefits depends very much on the child's needs. But to give you a sense of what he works on with mine: coordination issues, motor planning, core strength, attention, and particular sports skills. He also places a lot of emphasis on building kids' self-esteem. We do OT as well and, maybe it is too early to say, but I think my kids are getting more out of this than the OT.

The owner, Ricardo Cunningham, used to work at Fitness for Health. He has a great attitude and a nice facility with reasonable rates.

I can't remember exactly but I want to say that it was in the vicinity of $80 for one hour of one-on-one work with the owner and $45 for 1/2 hour. (I really liked that he had the half-hour option.) There were also sports/fitness as well as social skills type classes that were more in the range of $45 for the hour. Again, this is from memory so I might be slightly off. Oh and there was also an initial assessment, which of course carried a fee more like in the $100 range.

Any idea on cost?

A few weeks ago, I asked if anyone knew of anything in the style of Fitness For Health but in the NOVA area. A few other posters seemed interested as well. Totally by chance I drove by a new place that just opened in Falls Church called Life Changing Fitness: http://www.lifechangingfitness.org/index.html. I can't compare it to FFH because I have never been there but this place looks really nice and seems to have a similar philosophy. We checked it out and my kids absolutely loved it. I think that the owner used to work at Fitness for Health (not a a hundred percent sure?). Just thought I'd pass along the info.
