I read Jane Eyre over and over. Sometimes I'll even read Laura Ingalls Wilder. Austen of course.

All of my L.M. Montgomery books are so dog-eared, I read a little bit from them regularly. If you have not already read it, The Blue Castle from L.M. Montgomery is an excellent book though not as popular as her Emily and Anne books. The Blue Castle lifts my Spirit because the heroine actively changes her life in positve direction.

I am a bit low right now. I've had a series of losses over the past couple of years and the latest one has been particularly tough for me. I tend to deal with things by retreating with a book, so I've been rereading a lot of old favorites: Laurie Colwin, Barbara Pym, and some childhood favorites like A Wrinkle in Time. What do you read (or reread) when you need comfort? Please share your favorites. Thank you.
